Membership Fees
When you first join the Academy you pay a Joining Fee on sign-up which covers your first month of training. Thereafter the appropriate Membership Fee is payable in advance. Membership fees are payable all year round because we operate all year round regardless if you decide to attend training or not. We have factored in holidays, etc. into our fees. If you cannot attend training for a genuine reason (such as an injury) we may suspend your payments until you can return to training.
We prefer that Membership Fees are paid fortnightly because most people are paid fortnightly. However Membership Fees can be paid Monthly or Weekly by either doubling or halving the appropriate Class Fee. Also, Membership Fees assume some form of Electronic Payment. If you pay by Cash or Cheque after your first month please add a $10 Cash Handling Fee to cover the costs and time involved in handling these payment methods.

Grading Fees
Hapkido
These start at $30 for a promotion test from white belt through to blue belt, increasing to $40 for all the blue belt grades and to $50 for the red belt grades. Black Belt promotion tests start at $250.
Junior Hapkido
These are $30 for all the colour belt promotion tests and $150 for the Junior Black Belt promotion test.
Little Dragons
These are $20 for all the colour belt promotion tests and $100 for the Purple Belt promotion test.
Little Dragons and Junior Hapkido Merit Badges
These cost $5 each except in some cases where they are awarded free of charge (e.g. those that mark significant achievement such as training for 5 years, etc.).
Uniforms

Beginners and Self Defence students may wear loose casual clothing (e.g. tasteful T shirt, loose pants). A plain white martial arts uniform must be worn by regular members if they want to progress past White Belt. These can be obtained at near wholesale rates through the club which is a much cheaper option than the normal retail from a martial arts supplier.
Our recommended uniform for Hapkido beginners, all Junior Hapkido and all Little Dragons students is a lightweight uniformwhich we can provide for $50 when you join (we hold a small stock of these) and you can order one by checking the appropriate size on the Membership application form.
Most Hapkido students progress to a standard Judo style uniform which will stand up better to the rigours of grappling and throwing. These normally retails for approximately $120 plus. We can obtain the same uniform for Academy members for $80.
Uniform patches are also strongly recommended. The patches are available to all students at cost ($40 a set).
We also have an alternative training top for use in the warmer weather or for “no jacket” self-defence or grappling training. This is a black “rash guard” with club branding and costs $40.
If you are joining Hapkido and have access to a plain white uniform you may wear that but we ask that any patches or branding from other martial arts styles that are on it be removed.
Other Equipment
We can provide a range of martial arts safety and training equipment again at near wholesale prices and we will shortly be placing a catalogue of the more common items that students can use on this website.
